Technology Implementation Officer
Ranyee Chiang is the Technology Implementation Officer with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, leading the launch of a new office to scale up technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Technology Implementation Office programs include grant programs and partnerships for electric vehicles and EV infrastructure, as well as a new loan program for industrial facilities and technologies. Prior to joining the Air District, Ranyee was the Director of Technology with the United Nations Foundation, overseeing efforts to evaluate, improve, and increase access to energy technologies in developing countries. She is the chairperson of International Standards Organization Technical Committee 285 for Clean Cookstoves and Clean Cooking Solutions, which has the highest developing country participation among ISO committees. Ranyee has also worked with the U.S. Department of Energy, managing a research program on bioenergy sustainability to drive technology development towards great environmental benefits and increased deployment.
